Outline Description of Module

The module aims to give a survey of the main theoretical approaches to translation.

On completion of the module a student should be able to

  • Have an understanding of the use of theory for translation;
  • Have a knowledge of the main theoretical approaches to translation;
  • Show ability to analyse the nature and relevancy of various theoretical arguments with regard to translation practice.

  • Show ability to use theoretical arguments with regard to translation practice;
