Syllabus content
The module, which will assume no previous knowledge of Latin, will cover the grammar and other material contained in the first 20 chapters of F.M. Wheelock, Wheelock’s Latin (6th ed.), together with appropriate supporting material supplied by the module tutor. This will include all the indicative mood, including the passive; simple usage of all cases; first to fourth declensions; demonstratives; personal pronouns; reflexive pronouns; relative pronoun; time phrases; cardinal and ordinal numbers.

Additional advice
The Reading Language modules are intensively taught and require consistent attendance and submission of coursework for students to obtain good marks. If your English grammar is rocky (if you wouldn’t recognise a verb if it jumped up and bit you), you should brush up on it over the vacation.
