Outline Description of Module

To provide an introduction to the skills and managerial techniques required for the effective management of people

On completion of the module a student should be able to

Knowledge:

 

  • list the reasons why human resource management is important.
  • identify and describe the main parts of the recruitment process.
  • compare and evaluate models of motivation.

 

 

 

Understanding:

 

  • explain in their own words what the term ‘human resource management’ involves.
  • make suggestions regarding how to apply the models of motivation to their own place of work to improve motivations levels within the workplace.
  • solve problem questions by applying employment law taught during the course.
  • apply different methods of team work to tasks completed during the course.

  • write a job description and person specification.
