Outline Description of Module

 

A practical, introductory project management course covering all the basics of theory, communications, research methods and planning.

 The aim of the module is to provide students with a practical introduction to project management

On completion of the module a student should be able to

 

Knowledge:

 

Demonstrate a thorough understanding of project management.

Demonstrate an understanding of the current issues relating to methodologies and the role of technology in project management.

Demonstrate the ability to create and implement a project management plan.

 

  

Understanding:

 

Demonstrate an understanding of the elements required to create a management plan for a project.

 

 

Skills:

 

Demonstrate the ability to research and write a basic management plan for a project.

Demonstrate the ability to devise a project management plan.

 

Students will be competent in study skills appropriate to this level.

Lectures and small group work.

Group discussions/ group exercises.
